ANNUAL RETREATS 

Each year we hold a number of retreats of varying lengths and on various topics. Some retreats will be suitable for students of all levels, whilst some have pre-requisites.

Please see below for the a basic description of each of our annual retreats. Please note that dates and retreat topics are subject to change. Once dates and topcs are confirmed, retreat applications and further details will be available.



JANUARY MAHAMUDRA RETREAT

8 Days (Residential retreat) -  Commencing on the first Saturday in January 

Each year we hold an eight day Mahamudra retreat. This retreat comprises teachings and meditations on understadning and experiencing the conventional nature of mind, as well as the ultimate nature of mind, self and phenomena.

This retreat is suitable for both new students and advanced students. New students should have a basic understanding of Buddhism and some experience with Path to Enlightenment teachings such as attending our Sunday afternoon classes.


2016 MAHAMUDRA RETREAT - Saturday January 2 to Saturday January 9

EASTER RETREAT

3 days (Residential retreat) - Commencing Good Friday 

Previous subjects of our Easter retreat have included the practice and development of Calm Abiding (Single Pointed Concentration), the development of Bodhichitta - Great Love & Great Compassion and the practice of Lama Tsong Khapa Guru Yoga.

This retreat is generally suitable for both new students and advanced students. Any specific pre-requisities will be advised when the topic is announced.


2016 EASTER RETREAT - Friday March 25 to Monday March

JULY VAJRAYANA RETREAT

2 or 3 Weeks (Residential retreat) - Commencing on the first Saturday of WA July School Holidays

On alternate years, we hold either a two week Yamantaka retreat or a three week Vajrayogini retreat. These retreats include teaching and meditation sessions and students will complete a mantra commitment. The retreat will conclude with a traditional fire puja.

To be able to attend these retreats you must have received the appropriate Highest Yoga Tantra initiation and have some experience with the practice.

2015 VAJRAYANA RETREAT
Commencing Saturday July 4 and concluding Saturday July 25

This year we are holding a special three week Yamantaka retreat. Over the three weeks Les will teach extensively from Geshe Loden's Yamantaka commentary - "Ocean of Indivisble Method & Wisdom" and lead mediations on both generation and completion stage. In order to attend this retreat you must have received the Yamantaka initiation and have some experience with this practice. 

If you are unable to attend for the full retreat it may be possible to attend for two weeks.

SEPTEMBER QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY RETREAT

3 days (Non- residential) - Commencing on the Saturday of the WA Queen's Birthday long weekend 


Over the WA Queen's Birthday long weekend we hold a three day, non-residential retreat. This retreat comprises four sessions each day starting at 9.00am and concluding at 5.oopm. Lunch and refreshments are provided. Previous subjects of this retreat have included the practice of Green Tara, Medicine Buddha, White Tara and the 21 Taras.

This retreat is generally suitable for both new students and advanced students. Any specific pre-requisities will be advised when the topic is announced.

2015 QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY RETREAT
Commencing Saturday September 26 and concluding Monday September 28

This year our Queen's Birthday retreat will be a weekend of White Tara practice. Over the three days Les will give some teachings and will guide meditations on the practice of White Tara.

Please note: To attend this retreat, students must have previously received the White Tara Initiation.
